Head Engineer – vertebrate collections

There is a vacancy for a permanent, fulltime head engineer position (“overingeniør”) at the Department of Natural History, University Museum of Bergen.

The Department of Natural History is seeking a technician for our vertebrate collections comprising the ichthyological, herpetological, ornithological, and mammalian collections. In total, the vertebrate collections hold 37 400 lots (ca. 200 000 specimens) as well as historic samples serving as an archive for international scientific projects and museums. The collections mainly consist of animals and parts thereof preserved in alcohol, dried skins, egg shells, some mounted taxidermic animals and tissue samples. The appointed person will work primarily with various practical tasks related to collection management, in collaboration with the scientists responsible for the vertebrate collections.
